Follow these steps to install the Expand Chrome extension
Download the Expand extension package from expand.380747.xyz and save it to your computer.
Right-click the downloaded ZIP and select "Extract All" (Windows) or double-click to unzip (Mac). You should see expand.crx and INSTALL.pdf inside.
Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions in the address bar, then press Enter.
Toggle the "Developer mode" switch in the top-right corner of the extensions page. The toggle will turn blue when enabled.
Click the "Load unpacked" button (top-left of the extensions page) and select the extracted extension folder (the folder containing manifest.json).
💡 The expand.crx file is used by Chrome's auto-update mechanism — do not try to install it manually.
Click the puzzle piece icon 🧩 in Chrome's toolbar, find Expand, and click the 📌 pin icon to keep it visible.
Modern Chrome (v117+) no longer supports dragging .crx files. This is expected — the .crx file is for Chrome's auto-update mechanism only. Always use "Load unpacked" on the extracted extension folder instead.
Make sure Developer mode is enabled (Step 4). Without it, sideloaded extensions will be disabled by Chrome.
Click the puzzle piece icon 🧩 in the Chrome toolbar to see all extensions. Pin Expand to keep it always visible.
Chrome may disable unpacked extensions on restart. Re-enable Developer mode and reload the extension via "Load unpacked".
