By accessing or using Expand (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Expand. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Expand is an AI research companion that generates research briefs from publicly visible article previews. The Service reads the publicly visible preview text of articles (the same text any visitor can see without subscribing or logging in), generates search queries, queries third-party search APIs for relevant context, and produces an original AI-generated research brief.
Expand is NOT a paywall bypass tool. We never access, decrypt, reproduce, or circumvent any paywalled or subscriber-only content. We only read publicly visible DOM elements and generate original AI content based on publicly available information. This is legally equivalent to a user reading a preview and then searching the web to write their own analysis.
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register using an email address and password, or sign in with Google OAuth.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are engaged in fraudulent or abusive activity.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

The research briefs generated by Expand are produced by AI models based on publicly available information and search results. They are not the original work of the article's author and should not be treated as a substitute for the paid article.
AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated output. You should verify important information independently before making decisions based on it.
The AI content is provided "as is" for informational and research purposes only. Expand is not responsible for any decisions, actions, or consequences resulting from your use of AI-generated content.
Expand offers the following subscription plans, billed monthly via Stripe:
3 articles per month. No credit card required.
30 articles per month. Billed automatically each month.
90 articles per month. Billed automatically each month.
One-time purchase of a single additional article credit. Available to all users regardless of tier.
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Subscription fees are charged automatically at the beginning of each billing period. You will receive an email receipt for each payment.
Prices are in US dollars and do not include applicable taxes, which will be calculated at checkout based on your location.
Expand has a strict no-refund policy for monthly subscriptions. You may cancel your subscription at any time to stop future billing. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Top-up purchases ($0.99/article) are non-refundable once the article credit has been consumed. Unused top-up credits may be refunded if requested within 7 days of purchase.

Expand and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Expand and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The AI-generated research briefs produced by the Service are original works generated from publicly available information. They do not reproduce, copy, or replicate the author's original paid content. You may use the generated briefs for personal, non-commercial research purposes.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any part of the Service or its generated content without our prior written consent.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Expand and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal or by contacting us at support@380747.xyz. Upon cancellation, your subscription will not renew, and you will retain access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier (3 articles/month).
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the Service in a manner that could harm us or third parties. In case of termination for cause, no refund will be issued.
Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or reliable. We do not warrant that any defects in the Service will be corrected.
You use the Service at your own risk. No advice or information obtained from the Service shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Hong Kong Sale of Goods Ordinance or the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), where such rights cannot be excluded by contract.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (CRD) for distance contracts.
However, by subscribing to Expand, you expressly waive this 14-day withdrawal right for digital content that is supplied immediately upon purchase. Article 16(m) of the CRD provides that the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content where the consumer has expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that this means losing the right of withdrawal.
At checkout, Stripe's consent collection mechanism records your explicit agreement to immediate delivery and waiver of the 14-day withdrawal right. By completing payment, you confirm that you understand and accept this waiver.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users via email.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
